Overview

Numerous ingredients have been brewed together to form a space that we now call Bagaan. Perched atop a hill, the place overlooks vast tea plantations bearing witness to the poetic skies of the Nilgiris. The home is nestled in a peaceful neighborhood that provides the solace one needs on a retreat while being in proximity with the nearby towns of Ooty and Kotagiri. Adorned with elements such as teakwood furniture, hand-picked linen, french windows, indoor plants, clay tiles and a traditional water well, the space provides an immersive experience of life in the blue mountains.

Bagaan is suitable for families, groups, solo travelers, writers and artists. Avid photographers and birders will flourish in this context due to the diversity of flora and fauna. The surrounding village of Perar is peaceful and picturesque and one can visit the nearby tea factories, temples and churches to learn about the region's history. It can be explored by people of all ages and experience levels.

If this is your first time in a mountain village, you may notice a few contrasting differences between your life and the lives of the people here. Time slows down for a bit in the mountains, and it is best experienced by slowing down your pace to savour the quiet moments you experience. Be conscious, engaged, and present, Meet and greet our local friends. Exchange stories. All in all, we would love for you to have a comfortable and restorative mountain experience.
