Terra Rose Ainmane is a space of immersion in the Kodava culture and heritage. It is surrounded by trees and plantations and yet connected to the simple life of Virajpet town. The place offers you the rarest of luxuries, that of time and of space, and the enviable opportunity to disconnect in order to connect deeply. Almost a decade into making, Terra Rosa Ainmane’s story is an ode to vernacular architecture and commitment towards nature. Materials such as rammed earth and laterite stone have been used for construction for centuries. Rammed earth’s carbon footprint is a 40th of concrete, which is composed of 20% of cement. It is also completely recyclable and has low transport emissions as it is an in situ construction method. The structure is naturally fire-proof, termite-proof, breathable and has insulating properties as it can absorb heat during the daytime and release it at night. For anyone who cherishes being close to nature, this home is the ideal space.

It holds high religious importance as well and thus attracts hordes of religious tourists. Talakaveri is said to be the source of River Cauvery. Although the source that is the flow of water is not always visible. During rainy season, one can get a glimpse of the same. The camp is located in the Coorg district and enjoys idyllic weather conditions. The Camp is open throughout the year. Monsoons (July to mid-September) are heavy, but the swollen river makes it all the more interesting and the surrounding foliage is alive and vibrant. The post-monsoon months (mid-Sept to beginning March) are the ideal time to visit as the weather is perfect. Summers are pleasant, since the camp is located in sylvan settings. When you arrive, you will find a set of fresh linen laid out for you. Linen is changed upon request to avoid wastage of water caused by unnecessary laundry. Please do let the staff know whenever you wish to have your bed sheets or towels changed! While we do ensure the space is clean and comfortable for you, being a home, it may not mimic the feel of a hotel. However, if there is any lapse in terms of cleanliness, please inform the team and it will be taken care of on priority.
